Job shadowing is an academically motivating activity
designed to give students an up-close look at the world of
work and to answer the question, "Why do I have to learn
this?" Students "shadow" workplace mentors as
they go through a normal day on the job. The students get to
see firsthand how the skills learned in school relate to the
workplace.
This national
event occurs each year in February and is an official
"kick-off" for the job shadowing year. KEC
Career and Technical students can take advantage of Job
Shadowing opportunities at various times throughout the
year. If you do not attend a KEC class be sure to ask
your teacher or counselor by mid-January if Job Shadowing
opportunities are available at your school.
