College Info/Helping Your Student/Parenting Tips

  • Career Information System - This the site for "Career Information System", "Career Click", and "Countdown 9,8,7". These are outstanding resources for teachers, students and parents. You will need User ID = illinois and Password = careers in order to access the "CIS" portion of this site. 

  • Career Voyages - This site is produced in cooperation with the Department of Labor and the Department of Education. It can provide assistance in the following areas: identify and explore career options with your children, find financial assistance and help choose education and training programs that meet your child's goals.

  • Forward Illinois - A guide to your future after high school.  "Forward" is designed to be a high school junior or senior's best resource for making big decisions about the future.

  • Get Tech - helps students, teachers, and parents plan for exciting careers in technology, engineering, manufacturing, and science. 

  • Kid Info - "The Web's best homework and student, teacher, parent resource."  A very comprehensive site with a lot of good links.

  • My Future - Get advice and information about careers in the military, scholarships, college help, advice on managing your money and much more.

  • O*Net Online - Provides broad access to the O*Net database of occupational information. It includes information on skills, abilities, knowledge, work activities, and interests associated with occupations.

  • Try Tools - students (K-16) explore construction-related careers.

  • Welcome to One Source- Your Gateway to Workforce and Career Information.  The Illinois Department of Employment Security is the most reliable source for information about the state's labor market.
