Child Development Course sequence at their home high school.
The course is designed to develop the skills required to plan
and implement an early childhood program. Students will apply
their learning experiences about children through
participation in a school-based preschool and possibly an
internship in a community child care facility. Interaction
with parents, including conferences, meetings, phone and
letter communications will be part of the course. Career
opportunities related to child care at the associate and
baccalaureate degree level are explored. Students should be
reading at 8th Grade level or above. Students must also
be able to work in a group setting as well as individually and
must be willing to take on a leadership role with same-age

ECE 112 is the course for which students may earn college
