This Consortium course is
designed to provide students interested in a career in
drafting with information and practical experience for
advanced course work in Computer Assisted Drafting. Most
course work is done using computers with CAD software that is
used in industry. The course includes planning and organizing
activities, researching information, coordinating work and
performing other general drafting related procedures. Students
prepare sketches and projections, use various reproduction
techniques and CAD command processes to produce CAD grid
drawings. Emphasis is placed on mechanical and architectural
drawings. An opportunity is provided for students to
specialize in an area of interest in the second year of this
program. Successful completion of this course is the basis for
the Kishwaukee
College Computer Aided Drafting Architecture and Mechanical
Certificates and Associate Degree (A.A.S.) Program.
