Culinary & Hospitality Management 1 & 2
Location: KEC Central 
2 High School Credits, each course
Culinary and Hospitality Management 2 Prerequisite:"C" grade average and/or consent of instructor.

This course will provide students interested in the food service industry, including hospitality careers involving hotel and motel management, further work in advanced food preparation and food preparation management. Students will learn to use commercial food service equipment to prepare food in quantity. A broad range of current food and nutrition issues will be covered such as planning food service, purchasing food, safety of food preparation, presentation of food, preparation, employer and customer relationships and careers and advanced education in the industry. Students will prepare, and evaluate the products prepared. Food Sanitation will be incorporated in the class room instruction. Emphasis will be placed on careers in the culinary and hospitality industries. Internships and field trips to local food preparation sites can be integrated into this course. Students may need to provide their own transportation, uniforms, and other costs related to placement at some community training sites.
