BUILDING MAINTENANCE 1 & 2

This course will provide classroom and hands-on instruction in basic building maintenance and preventative maintenance facility care. The course is open to juniors and seniors who are interested in being trained for future employment in the maintenance or custodial services. Students will learn how to maintain and repair general building equipment related to: heating and cooling belts, ventilation, electrical, basic plumbing and facility updates. Classroom instruction will be focused on an introduction to cleaning chemicals, building codes and some blueprint reading. General social and employment skills will also be emphasized throughout the course.
