semester of keyboarding and/or demonstrated keyboarding
proficiency.
Bus. & Info. Tech. 2
Prerequisite: "C" grade average and/or consent of
instructor.
This course is designed to be a
two-year program which includes computer training using
Windows Vista, the Internet and Microsoft Office 2007.
Students will receive extensive instruction in Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel (spreadsheets), PowerPoint (presentations),
and Access (database). Some desktop publishing skills
will be taught using Microsoft Publisher. We will also work with Adobe Photoshope using Macintosh computers.
Business-related accounting, written and oral communications,
and other office skills will be integrated in the course.
Teamwork skills will be integrated into the curriculum. Field
trips to area business offices will be incorporated as well.
Students in the second year of the program will be placed in
paid internships four days a week with one day in the
structured classroom. OS 125, OS 126, CIS 133, CIS 135, OS 136 and OS 270 are the courses for which students may earn college credit.
