The purpose of the Kishwaukee Education Consortium (KEC) is to develop and maintain a regional education for employment system that addresses the principles of relevancy, quality, access, and efficiency. The KEC provides basic education and skill training for immediate employment or advanced education programs in preparation for later employment. 

The KEC in partnership with business and industry (Kishwaukee Education-to-Careers Partnership), Kishwaukee College, KCDEE and other regional systems has established (and continues to develop) Education to Career work-based learning programs as well as additional alternative education programs to serve at-risk and economically disadvantaged clients.
